Welcome to our city school
St Andrew's Cathedral School (SACS) is an innovative, coeducational independent Kindergarten to Year 12 school, situated in the centre of Sydney's CBD. With modern facilities and innovative learning environments, our urban location presents innumerable opportunities for students to engage beyond the classroom at city museums, concert halls, theatres, national institutions and galleries. Our central city location enables students to travel with their parents to work or easily reach the school by train, car, bus or ferry.
Our Academic program
SACS caters for all learners, encouraging each to develop a lifelong love of learning, with most students pursuing university studies following graduation. As a fully comprehensive school, St Andrew's differentiates teaching practices to accommodate students with a broad range of interests and abilities. Our students' performances in public Australian examinations points to an atmosphere of highly accomplished learning and teaching.
Flexibility and choice
To cater for the variety of interests, academic interests and learning styles of students, flexibility is built-into every part of the school experience. In the final years of school, both the HSC and IB Diploma Programme are offered. Students can choose from around 30 music ensembles, along with debating, chess, mock trial, dance and an incredible array of performing arts, as well as summer and winter sports. We have a specialist strength and conditioning room and gym on campus and also use some of the city's best sporting venues, including those at nearby Sydney University.
Our Outdoor Education program and facilities, run by our own specialist staff, are among the best on offer in NSW, with a vast range of age-appropriate camps, commencing in Year 3. Secondary students can go on trips that include expeditions from Kosciusko to Bass Strait, mountain biking in New Zealand, canoeing on the Murray, cross-country skiing and community service projects in central Australia.
Every student is valued and nurtured
Our comprehensive student wellbeing programs encourage a passion for learning and a culture of participation across sport, music, performing arts and outdoor education. Each year, the school offers a number of opportunities to travel across the world for international educational opportunities in sport, service learning, music, science, drama, languages, history or art.
